There are some songs that just sound best on a certain day of the week, and others that can only be played on that day. It's not like day of the week underwear, which are often funnier on the wrong day, especially under your clothes where nobody else will care. If someone else does see them, hopefully they'll share your sense of humor.
On Wednesday I heard that "bang on the drum all day" song and it was just cruel. That is a Friday song, '80s radio station. C'mon. A bad one. There are lots of bad Friday songs (you know they talk about getting paid, hating your job and how much the weekend rocks) and I think that it's because every song sounds better on Friday. Even '80s music, which I really don't like that much.
Think about it, when you get off of work and either put on your iPod or get in your car, don't you just want to sing it and dance around no matter what it is?
This summer I found a new, fun, Friday song that encompases all of the Friday Song cliches but makes them just a bit cooler. Especially well-reconciled is the contradiction of full-time employment with the joy of 6:00. I still listen to it, even when I'm working at home. Listen to Hard Fi's "Living for the Weekend" on YouTube while ignoring the uninspired video.
Well, I've listened to that song "Living for the Weekend" and it sucks. You can't even understand what the hell he's singing.
By the way, it's a shame you don't like the 80's music because the was the greatest music of all time. That is why there are still lots of radio stations and T.V shows (especially on VH1) that continue to play and talk about that music. I guess you'd be too young to appreciate good, clean, and fun songs. Not like this junk they play on the hip hop stations now a days.
